Decision Day 2019 - ATDW salutes our Graduates

This time of year is often the most rewarding and the most difficult as we see our Seniors become Alumni; we're are very proud of their hard work and development - we are thrilled they are pursuing their dreams on the next, larger stage and we hope they will carry the lessons they've learned at ATDW with them into their college and professional careers. They will always be part of the ATDW family and #ATDWAlumni for life. We look forward to all that each of you will share with and bring into the world, the road lies ahead - take every opportunity - don't take no for an answer and fly!

Its spring - so it must be showcase time!

Time for Moving up and Moving on!

Every year, around this time, dancers, teachers, and artistic directors start to feel the days waning before the end of the year comes to pass. We, at ATDW, are not immune to this feeling. We know that our dancers are looking forward to putting their new skills to the test onstage and that parents are eager to support their dancers as they enter stage left and hit their marks. Some of us had the pleasure of working many times together prior to and afterward over the years that followed and some only once but this show and this cast left indelible impressions upon all of our lives.

Take a look at this cast list – the cast from this tour has made quite a contribution to the Musical Theater landscape. The dancers that originated the touring cast included: Roxane Barlow, Lisa Dawn Cave, Kriss Dias and Michelle O’Steen-Vivona and Mary MacLeod and on the ma...

A GUY AND HIS DOLL

Michelle and Jerome Vivona – Owners and Artistic Directors of the American Theater Dance Workshop, celebrating its 34th year!

Michelle and I became the Artistic Directors of the American Theater Dance Workshop four years ago this past August. Prior to that, we spent our careers working in Ballet Companies, on Broadway, TV and Film and Michelle spent 6 seasons as a Radio City Music Hall Rockette. Our goal was to bring our unique understanding of what it takes to become successful in the business and the arts to Long Island. We met in Paris doing West Side Story and fell in love – we were engaged almost immediately and spent the next two and a half years working together, on tour an...
