Our Curriculum

The American Theater Dance Summer Workshop presents a two-week highly intensive program designed for the serious, intermediate to advanced dancer ages fourteen and older. Dance teachers who take the program come away with a wealth of information for their own studios. We attract students from all parts of the United States and Canada, as well as from the international community, including Europe, Asia, Latin America.

WHAT MAKES OUR PROGRAM UNIQUE?
We are truly an educational Workshop. In the current dance world where so much emphasis is placed on competition, we concentrate on the pure techniques involved in dance and musical theater. Our dancers know that they are there to study and absorb the knowledge and experiences of our illustrious faculty. It is amazing to see the growth that takes place in technique, dedication, attitude and desire in only two weeks time.

A typical day consists of six hours of classes. The evenings are reserved for additional classes, seminars, master classes and rehearsals. There are no optional activities in our program, for we feel that each class and seminar adds an important aspect to the Workshop. There is always a trip to New York City to see a Broadway show.
